I tired of living poor what am i doing wrong?

help i tired of being poor i have had a full time job since i was 17 i am a 34 single dad of 2 i have had to work harder then ever one else i had to teach my self to read at 16 using auto repairer books from work i still cant do gramme well or spelling i not grate at math but i am working on that i was special ed in school i never been afraid of hard work i live in a trailer with to children i not saying want to be supper rich just a nice small home a place my kids could be proud of me and not a failure and living pay check to pay check i am back in school to get a degree i just tired of being on food stamps and ssdi for a bad back and learning problems and yes i do work part time i don't like siting around doing nothing only thing i want to do for my self is build hot rods as a hobby if your wondering i did finnish high school just want to know what i did wrong growing up i was told if i worked harder then ever one else i would have money i want to know what i did for my life to back fire
